Health Care For All Optimistic about New Direction for Commonwealth Care Alliance
Nonprofit which helped create CCA cheers transition
BOSTON – Statement from Amy Rosenthal, Executive Director at Health Care For All on today’s announcement regarding the Commonwealth Care Alliance:
“Commonwealth Care Alliance was founded with the powerful goal of providing high quality, individualized care to Massachusetts residents with the most complex health care needs. This model of person-centered care has been a success for the last 20 years. It currently allows close to 50,000 Massachusetts residents to live independently at home and in their communities.
“We are pleased that MassHealth was able to work with CareSource, a non-profit with extensive experience providing long-term services and supports, to acquire CCA and continue providing high-quality care to its members.”
“HCFA stands ready to work in partnership with CareSource, MassHealth and the disability community to help ensure the organization continues to live up to Massachusetts high health care standards, spirit of collaborative partnership, and CCA’s original mission of person-centered care. It will be essential that CareSource continues to keep an open line of communication with the patients it serves. Residents who require more personalized care deserve a seat at the table to ensure they are getting a network that can support their individual needs. We are hopeful today’s announcement will ensure CCA’s members can get the care they need so they can stay in the community and lead healthy lives.”
