Cover All Kids is a campaign to improve access to health care for immigrant children in Massachusetts.
The Issue
Access to health care improves all aspects of a child’s life. It helps them do better in school and take part in activities with family and friends. It even positively impacts their health and job opportunities as an adult. Yet, tens of thousands of immigrant children and young adults in Massachusetts cannot access the care they need only because of their immigration status.
For example, there are limits on mental health visits, dental care and medications. Services and medical equipment such as eyeglasses, certain therapies, wheelchairs and home-based care are not covered at all.
That’s why we are advocating for An Act to ensure equitable health coverage for children (H.1237/S.740). This bill would expand full MassHealth coverage to all income-eligible children and young adults regardless of their immigration status.
