Boston. – “Today, the Massachusetts Legislature approved a $46.2 billion budget for FY21 that invests heavily in many of the critical needs our communities face amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Health Care For All applauds the Legislature for putting forward a budget that protects health coverage programs, including MassHealth. The plan also includes important investments in children’s health, behavioral health, housing, and food security.
“In addition, the agreement fully restores coverage for MassHealth adult dental services, after a 10 year effort of incrementally reinstating benefits. The FY21 budget finally reestablishes a fully comprehensive MassHealth adult dental program with funding for root canal treatments and crowns, following the leadership of the House. Health Care For All would like to express our deepest gratitude to the members of the Conference Committee and House and Senate leadership for taking this decisive action and championing oral health.
“We urge Governor Baker to sign the approved budget with all of the funding and policy provisions to help ensure that consumers can access health care and health-related social services throughout the pandemic and over the long term.”
