Statement from Health Care For All on the Supreme Court’s Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade

BOSTON – Statement from Amy Rosenthal, Executive Director at Health Care For All:

“This has been a challenging week for people’s health and well-being in the United States. The Supreme Court struck down a woman’s fundamental right to make decisions about her own body. This ruling will significantly undermine the health and safety of women, particularly low-income women and women of color. Abortion and reproductive health services are essential health care and should be protected for everyone.

“As horrific as the decision by the Supreme Court to strike down Roe v. Wade is, we are grateful for our state leaders who have shown unflinching support in the fight to keep reproductive rights safe and legal in Massachusetts. Residents of the Commonwealth will continue to have access to all the health care services they need, which includes reproductive health care services and abortion. This time has furthered our commitment to ensuring our HelpLine is available to all who need assistance accessing critical health care services.”
