Ashley Blackburn, Health Care For All’s Interim Executive Director, issued the following statement on the Primary Care Access, Primary Care Access, Delivery, and Payment Task Force’s recommendation to increase spending on primary care in Massachusetts:

Primary care is the foundation of any effective health care system and essential for patient health and wellness but, unfortunately, spending on primary care in Massachusetts is disproportionately low and only declining. The recommendations made today by the Primary Care Access, Delivery and Payment Task Force are both timely and vitally important, and Health Care for All enthusiastically supports them.

In the wake of federal health care cuts, fortifying our state’s primary care system has never been more important. We are pleased to have been members of this Task Force and look forward to working with policymakers to ensure everyone can get the care they need.
