PRESS STATEMENT:
Health Care For All Praises Legislators for Critical Commitment to Health Access in FY2024 State Budget

BOSTON – Health Care For All Executive Director Amy Rosenthal released the following statement in response to the 1115 MassHealth Demonstration amendment proposed Wednesday by MassHealth.

“Health Care For All applauds the Healey-Driscoll administration and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services for their steadfast commitment to ensuring that MassHealth members are able to keep their coverage. Through the redetermination process and the proposed 1115 amendment, the administration continues to demonstrate a concerted effort to improve and maintain the health of residents of the Commonwealth.

“Every day, we hear from HelpLine callers about the challenges they face in keeping their health insurance coverage. The proposals – providing 12-month continuous eligibility for individuals on MassHealth, ensuring people have access to retroactive coverage to pay for medical bills, and securing federal funds to ensure more residents have access to subsidized health plans – would pave the way for more equitable and affordable health care coverage for the tens of thousands of Massachusetts residents who need it most.

“We look forward to working with MassHealth and the Healey-Driscoll administration to advocate for the approval of these changes.”
