Medicaid Saves Lives. Let’s Save Medicaid.

What’s at stake?
Congress passed a budget resolution that calls for hundreds of billions in cuts to Medicaid in order to fund substantial tax cuts for the wealthy. The budget resolution is just the beginning of the process. Over the coming weeks and months both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate must pass a final version before it becomes law. This means that we have the chance to stop these cuts if we act now.
Medicaid, known as MassHealth in Massachusetts, is a lifeline for health insurance coverage and a foundational source of economic and health security for 80 million Americans, including 1 in 3 Massachusetts residents and half of all children in the state. It is also a key financial pillar for the doctors, hospitals, and nursing homes we all rely on.
This is a critical moment. The cuts that Congress is actively considering would rip away health care coverage from hundreds of thousands of people in Massachusetts who rely on it for life-saving treatment and medications.
What Can We Do?
Health Care For All is partnering with SEIU to hold phone banks and call constituents in key Congressional Districts and ask them to tell their members of Congress: Don’t cut Medicaid!
We will provide training and help people get set up to make calls. With just an hour or two of your time you can make a real difference in the fight to save health care coverage.
