About Amie
Amie Shei, Ph.D., is the president and CEO of The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts, a health conversion foundation based in Worcester and serving Central Massachusetts, with a mission to improve the health of those who live or work in Central Massachusetts. The Health Foundation has long understood the importance of addressing upstream social determinants of health and has been recognized nationally for its results-oriented grantmaking. Examples of its sustained impact include expanding access to oral health (in partnership with Health Care For All and others), addressing adult chronic homelessness, promoting economic self-sufficiency in public housing, developing a model of behavioral health consultations in preschool settings, and more.
Prior to joining The Health Foundation, Amie led consulting projects in the areas of health care strategy and health economics and outcomes research at Analysis Group and Health Advances. She also taught in the Community Health program at Tufts University. Her research and writing have been published in Health Affairs, CommonWealth Magazine, Applied Health Economics and Health Policy, etc. Amie earned a Ph.D. in Health Policy with a concentration in Evaluative Science and Statistics at Harvard University. She also holds a M.S. in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health and a B.A. in English from Amherst College.
