About Trishan

Trishan Panch, M.D., HCFA’s Board President, works at the intersection of medicine, computer science and design. As the co-founder of Wellframe, Trishan creates computational systems to re-engineer complex processes, empower patients and create more efficient and responsive health systems. Trishan has built the Wellframe clinical, product, and creative teams. In addition to his role at Wellframe, Trishan is also a practicing primary care physician and currently supervises master’s degree students from the Harvard School of Public Health and teaches a Ph.D. course at MIT HST. Trishan is also on the advisory board of Boston Children’s Hospital.

Trishan’s previous experience includes serving as the clinical director of Sana Mobile at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, an instructor in health policy and management at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, and an MIT lecturer in health sciences and technology. He has set up and runs primary care organizations in the US, UK, India, and Sri Lanka, providing comprehensive adult, pediatric, obstetric, and mental health care for complex populations in a mixture of urban and rural settings. Trishan has received numerous accolades, including being the inaugural recipient of Harvard’s Public Health Innovator of the Year award. He is an active speaker and researcher on issues of computation, design, primary care, mental health and health system improvement.
